In December 2017 a children’s story competition was held as part of the Lough Neagh Reminiscence Project. This involved children from all corners of the lough speaking with relatives to gather stories that they’ve experienced living around Lough Neagh.
The interest in the project was exceptional with over 300 entries received covering diverse topics ranging from storms and fishermen to ice skating. After enjoying all of the great entries we narrowed the list down to 10 of the best. After some more deliberation we awarded Hannah Downey of Anahorish Primary School as the winner.
